Matting
We put your dog's comfort above all else. If your dog is matted, it may have to be shaved or taken very short. Grooming matted dogs takes time so additional fees will be added on to the regular grooming price. There is an increased risk of injuries, such as clipper burn, cuts, or nicks, when grooming a matted dog. We do our best to avoid any injuries when shaving matted coats, but accidents can happen. We believe in humanity over vanity and will do what is most comfortable for your dog. We encourage the pet parent to brush and comb regularly to prevent any matting, especially on long hair.
Matted coats can cause skin irritation, dirt build up, restricted blood flow, and moisture which can lead to severe injures and pain for your dog. It is common for a dog, when shaved, to shake and lick as they are experiencing new sensations like air flow.Â
